HIFU Treatment

H-I-F-U : What does it stand for?
HIFU stands for High Intensity Focused Ultrasound which is a new technique for treating prostate cancer. Ultrasound has been used for medical imaging (such as ante-natal scans) for decades, but recently the technology has been developed so that it can be used for treatment as well as diagnosis.
This technology as mentioned, has been around for decades, but with the Korean wave, and the innovation of the doctors in Korea, they have created another huge hype about this HIFU thing, and of course, it begins to hit Singapore.
You can literally find at least 1 HIFU machine in every aesthetic clinic along the stretch of Gangnam and Apujeong in Korea, Seoul, but not that much in Singapore.
So, what does it do?
This HIFU treatment basically targets people with aged skin, sagginess, elasticity loss, baby fats, double chin and of course, for everyone whom just want to look younger and have a V-shaped face!
I know right... how wonderful it is? I have just tried, and you will gradually see the effect on my face from 2 - 8 weeks time.
The steps...
There are basically few simple steps to this treatment. 1st and foremost, you will need to get your skin numbed! as numb as it can, trust me, just numb it.
(Ok, I looked like some... freak, but nevermind) :)
After a 20-30 mins wait, the doctor will start his/her HIFU treatment on your face.
There are 2 phases of treatment. One will be the 4.5mm penetration, and followed by the 3mm penetration.
During these treatments, just try to keep yourself as calm as you can, you will experience slightly prickling feeling, certain areas may ache like toothache and slight burning sensations, and I actually do feel itchy on certain parts of my skin!

This HIFU treatment is super non-invasive, completely and totally, and it just took me about 45min to complete the whole treatment process, including numbing. After which, of course, I will put on makeup etc before stepping out of the clinic. Just imagine, I literally don't feel much pain and powdered on immediately.
Some may experience slight, and I repeat, very slight swelling on the face, some may have slight redness and skin sensitive, and as we walked, we will feel abit of tingling sensation, but that's perfectly alright and normal. These feelings will go away within 2 days.
Ok, here's my right after treatment photo. (again, ignore my hideous look, but focus more on the lifting ok)
You will realize, my laugh lines were almost gone, and my jaw lines contour somehow were lifted up.

So now, what do we do? Wait for your skin to transform naturally, and see the difference in the firmness, elasticity, V-shape and bye bye to saggy baby fats!
